Safety Day
The Sixth Safety Day event of Caspian Pipeline Consortium in the city of Stavropol took place on August 22, 2017 with the participation of Mr. Nikolay Gorban (the CEO of Caspian Pipeline Consortium), Mr. Vladimir Vladimirov (the Governor of the Stavropolsky Kray), Mr. Andrew McGrahan (the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC CPC-R, the President & CEO of Shevron Neftegaz Inc. Company, top managers of CPC and representatives of the Companies-Shareholders of the Consortium.
The participants of competitions and contests on knowledge of the safety actions were the employees of CPC Operations Department and seven teams from the subcontract entities within the Expansion Project i.e. JSC Chernomortransneft, JSC Trust Koksokhimmontazh, LLC Velesstroy, LLC Starstroy, LLC Stroynovation, LLC Stroyconract, the SuiS team (Control and communication systems). The total number of the participants this year reached 400 persons.
Welcoming the participants and the guests of the event date, the CEO of CPC Nikolay Gorban highlighted that the special attention during execution of works within the Expansion Project is paid to compliance with the norms of the industrial safety and labour safety. He noted that the Consortium has always been adhering to the highest standards and using the International Best Practices only within the industrial safety, as well as stating that finalization the large-scale civil works should not put an end to the excellent tradition of the Safety Day event conducting.
The contests have been arranged in the following main disciplines: environment, medicine, road traffic safety, works at height, fire-fighting activities, risk analysis of the potentially hazardous situations and rapid response to the situations occurred, use of Personal Protective Equipment and Collective Protective Equipment. The participants could show their creative potential and creativity during a welcome amateur performance.
At the Award Ceremony the employees-specialists who showed the best results in knowledge & skills were awarded with valuable prizes and once more proved that they had the high knowledge within this field and that the safe work practices were the main task and goal for all participants of the Expansion Project at all facilities.
Awarding the winners Nikolay Gorban, the CEO of CPC, notes that during such competitions there are no winners and no losers since the additional examination of knowledge and skills enhances a safety level at the CPC facilities, and it is a person who benefits from those results first of all, since the human life is invaluable.
