An amateur chess tournament was held in Izhevsk

  In Izhevsk, an amateur chess and checkers tournament among employees was held on the territory of the Uralmetallurgmontazh enterprise for a month.

 Chess is a game with a centuries–old history, which is characterized by complex multi-layered logic and an extraordinary game world. The phenomenon of chess is the development of non-standard thinking.

  Such competitions are held for the purpose of intellectual load, change of activity and communication in an informal setting. It is also important sometimes to change monotonous manual labor to a thought process in order to maintain balance and remain productive. The factory workers took the idea of the tournament with enthusiasm. The parties were held at lunchtime and after work.

   More than 15 games of chess and 25 games of checkers were held among the participants. The fight for the championship was intense and very exciting. The winner in chess and checkers was Alexander A. Korotkov, a metalwork fitter. At the end, all participants were awarded with diplomas and memorable prizes.
