A liquefied gas production plant has been built in Magnitogorsk
Trust Koksokhimmontazh has built a plant for the production of liquefied natural gas in Magnitogorsk for the gas company NOVATEK-Chelyabinsk LLC
The plant produces liquefied natural gas and purified natural gas for industrial and domestic use, including as motor fuel.
The launch ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Yuri Borisov, Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson and Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexey Texler.
"The plant with a capacity of 40 thousand tons per year is designed for the preparation and liquefaction of natural gas with subsequent use as a gas engine fuel for passenger and freight transport in the Chelyabinsk region and in neighboring regions," the governor's press service reported.
With the commissioning of the plant, the Chelyabinsk region will be one of the first in the country to switch to an environmentally friendly, economical and comfortable type of fuel.
The company is 95% equipped with Russian-made equipment. Project documentation and equipment are also made exclusively by Russian companies.
"The company "Koksokhimmontazh" completed all the work in 16 months. They included: installation of 4 LNG storage tanks weighing 38 tons each and a turbo expander – the main equipment for gas liquefaction, installation of 4 horizontal underground fire-fighting tanks, 7 adsorbers for gas purification and drying, installation of 360 tons of metal structures, strapping with 8 km long technological pipelines, laying 82 km of cableconductor products. With the launch of this highly technological plant, we once again confirm the ability to ensure the creation of unique, environmentally friendly industrial productions exclusively by our domestic enterprises," said Sergey Fufaev, General Director of the Koksokhimontazh Trust.
