A unique sulfuric acid production plant, which has no analogues in Russia, has been launched in Cherepovets. In terms of its productivity – 1.1 million tons of sulfuric acid per year, the plant is the most powerful in the country. Sulfuric acid is the most important component in the production of phosphorus–containing fertilizers. At the launch ceremony of the installation , Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov noted: "The new plant will increase the volume and expand the range of fertilizers produced. The entire Russian agro-industry along the entire chain "from ore to food" will benefit from this. The food security of our country will be strengthened."
The installation project was carried out by domestic design institutes – "Koksokhimmontazh-project" and the Research Institute for Fertilizers and Insectofungicides named after Professor Ya.V.Samoilov. The construction was preceded by extensive research, scientific and engineering training. Almost all the equipment was manufactured by Russian manufacturers.
Andrey Guryev, CEO of PJSC PhosAgro, said that the launch of the unit is the completion of a large-scale development program of the Cherepovets production complex of the company and expressed gratitude for the conscientious work, teamwork and professionalism of the direct participants in the construction: designers, builders, installers, equipment suppliers, factory workers.
