A stele has been installed in memory of the legendary builders of the automobile plant in Izhevsk

In the city of Izhevsk, on the territory of the Uralmetalurgmontazh enterprise, the opening of the Moskvich stele took place on May 15. The pedestal was made and installed by the company, and the Moskvich-412 itself was restored by employees. Uralmetalurgmontazh in Soviet times erected the buildings of the Izhevsk Automobile Plant, which produced a well-known subcompact passenger car in the world.
This year is an anniversary - 55 years of the beginning of the mass production of the car. The company's staff installed a stele in memory of the builders who participated in the construction of the Izhevsk plant, which produced the legendary Moskvich.
The first Moskvich – 408 was assembled at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant on December 12, 1966. By the end of 1966, the first 300 Izhevsk cars rolled off the assembly line of the "small" plant, compared to its Moscow counterpart, which was undoubtedly a great achievement for that period. After that, the plant switched to a more modern Moskvich– 412. The main difference is the new engine, which was almost revolutionary for the USSR. In the beginning, all parts and components of the car were supplied by the AZLK plant, but later Izhevsk "Muscovites" were assembled as a whole independently of Moscow.

 - This car, as a loyal friend and reliable colleague, has always helped out. And she is also a prominent representative of Soviet engineering and breakthrough solutions. Muscovites have not been produced for a long time, but you can still see a simple and reliable car on the roads, which still copes with its work perfectly, - said the director of the enterprise.
