Launch of the new unit "Ammonia-4" at the production site of JSC "Akron"

  On July 29, 2016, with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, a ceremony was held to launch a new ammonia production unit at the Acron production site in Veliky Novgorod.

   The launch of a new production facility will provide a positive impact on the development of the region and will increase the volume of fertilizer production at existing plants. The construction of the new unit was completed in 26 months. Its capacity is 2,060 tons per day, and it is 15% more efficient than the existing ones, according to a number of indicators.

   In the history of modern Russia, before that, there were no examples of the construction of such installations for the production of ammonia exclusively by domestic companies in such a short time.

   The implementation of the project is provided by the forces of CJSC Trust Koksokhimmontazh. The number of specialists involved reached more than 2500 people per day. The work was carried out according to the basic project. The design was carried out simultaneously with the construction and all construction and installation work was carried out, which is called "from scratch". The first piles for the foundations of the main units - catalytic reforming and ammonia synthesis column - began to be immersed at the end of March 2014), and on May 29, 2016, the first ammonia was obtained by the Chemist's Day, and after 2 months of trial operation, the unit was brought to its design capacity. In 2 years, a full range of preparatory and construction and installation works necessary for the construction of the unit in the conditions of an operating enterprise has been carried out: 130 km of pipelines, 658 pieces of equipment weighing 25,000 tons, more than 65,000 joints have been welded, 7940 tons of metal structures have been manufactured and installed, 275 km of power and control cables have been laid.

   The work was carried out in close cooperation with the Customer services of JSC "Akron". Such well-coordinated work ensured that the unit was put into operation in accordance with the planned deadlines.
