Launch of the first stage of the Yamal LNG plant
On December 8, 2017, the first stage of the Yamal LNG plant was launched in the village of Sabetta on the Yamal Peninsula in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"– Dear colleagues, dear friends! We have a wonderful day today. I congratulate you all, there are no random people here. I congratulate you all, the entire huge team of NOVATEK, everyone who worked on the project, on the first shipment of LNG to a new tanker ... this is an extremely important direction for Russia. This is not only an important event in the country's energy sector, in gas production, in liquefaction. This is a larger-scale project, bearing in mind that we face huge large-scale tasks for the development of the Arctic and the development of the Northern Sea Route. This is a complex project, of course. But those who started this project took a risk — and it turned out to be a reasonable risk – and achieved results," Vladimir Putin stressed.
The Sabetta port and the LNG plant are the largest infrastructure project in the world, implemented in the Arctic latitudes. Yamal LNG is a unique investment project that provides all stages of liquefied natural gas production: from natural gas extraction, its preparation, liquefaction, shipment and subsequent transportation of LNG to the consumer.
A significant part of the work on the construction of the project was carried out by JSC Trust Koksokhimmontazh. During the implementation of the project, the number of personnel of JSC "Trust Koksokhimmontazh" was more than 3,000 people. Despite the tight construction deadlines, harsh weather conditions, complex technological operations and strict requirements for the quality of work performed, the engineering and technical and working staff of our company successfully coped with the task: all contractual obligations were fulfilled on time with compliance with all Russian and international quality standards, norms and requirements of industrial and environmental safety.
Timely commissioning of the plant's facilities is ensured thanks to professional and competent planning, thoughtful work of a highly qualified team of Yamal LNG OJSC and contractors.
It is a great honor for Trust Koksokhimmontazh JSC to contribute to the most important project for the economy and industry of Russia, which, of course, is a historical milestone and a starting point for the implementation of large-scale projects north of the Arctic Circle.
Congratulations to the participants of the Yamal LNG project, which has no analogues in the world. This project opens up new horizons for the development of the entire gas industry and the national economy, the development of the Arctic and the Northern Sea Route.
